Cruise Casino Tier Match: Which Lines Will Match Your Offer in 2026, and Exactly What to Send Them
If you play in a casino — on land or at sea — there is a decent chance some cruise line will hand you a comped cabin just for proving that somebody else already thinks you’re worth one.
That is what a tier match is. You send a cruise line evidence of your standing somewhere else, and they decide what to offer you to come try their casino instead. Almost every major line runs some version of it. The programs are real, they are open right now, and most people who would qualify have never heard of them.
There is one thing we want to say before the list, because it reframes the whole exercise and nobody tells you this part.
These are not loyalty rewards. They are new-customer offers.
Read the eligibility rules and the pattern is impossible to miss:
- Royal Caribbean’s Rewards Match requires that you have not sailed Royal Caribbean in the previous 24 months.
- Royal Caribbean’s Casino Royale Offer Match goes further: no Royal Caribbean or Celebrity sailing since January 2018.
- Norwegian’s match is for first-time Norwegian cruisers.
- Virgin’s casino match is for people who have never sailed Virgin.
We sail Royal. We play in Club Royale. Which means the match we would most like to have is the exact one we cannot get — and if you are reading this because you are a loyal Royal player, the same is true for you.
So stop thinking of a match as a reward for being a good customer. It is a line buying a first date. The strategic consequence is the useful part: you play the match game on the lines you don’t already sail. Your Club Royale standing is not an asset to Royal. It is an asset to Princess, Holland America, MSC, Margaritaville and Carnival, all of whom would very much like to take you away from Royal.
What each line will match, and what it’s worth
Everything below comes from each line’s own program page or terms, checked in September 2026. Where a figure comes from a third party rather than the line itself, we say so — those are the ones to verify before you count on them.
Royal Caribbean — Rewards Match
Send: a photo of your unexpired players card, in good condition, from one of fifteen named land programs.
Get: complimentary cruise fare for you and one guest sharing your stateroom, double occupancy. Taxes and fees are separate.
The accepted list: Club Barona · Station Casinos Boarding Pass · Boyd Rewards · Caesars Rewards · Golden Nugget 24K Select · Live! Rewards · Penn Play · Genting Rewards (Resorts World Las Vegas and Resorts World) · Club Jack · Rivers Rush Rewards · Venetian Rewards · WinStar Rewards · Wynn Rewards · Yaamava’ Club Serrano.
The catches: 21+, US or Canada, no Royal sailing in the last 24 months, and you must join Crown & Anchor and accept marketing. Once issued, you have 15 days to redeem and nine months to sail, on the specific ships, dates and cabin categories in your offer.
Royal does not publish which land tier maps to which offer. If you have been matched, we would genuinely like to know what your tier produced.
Royal Caribbean — Casino Royale Offer Match
A separate program, frequently confused with the one above. Here you send a competing offer rather than a card, through clubroyaleoffers.com.
The catch is severe: no Royal Caribbean or Celebrity voyage since January 2018, and no existing bookings. Redeem within 14 days, book by phone at 1-888-561-2234 — travel advisor bookings are excluded. Comped drinks in Casino Royale for you and your cabinmate while you’re actively playing come as part of it.
Princess — Casino Tier Match
Send: your best offer from another cruise line or a land-based casino. Carnival offers are the one explicit exclusion.
Get: free or discounted cruises. The only hard number Princess publishes is a $200 per person onboard credit, non-transferable and non-refundable.
Terms: 21+, legal residents of the 50 states and DC, apply at portal.princess.com/casino, roughly seven business days for a response. The program runs until at least 31 December 2026, after which Princess may end it.
Princess does not publish tier mappings either.
Holland America — Players Club Match
Send: the registration form, and optionally your tier standing at other casinos — their page says supplying it may get you a better offer.
Get: free or discounted cruises with drinks included. FrequentMiler reported in April 2026 that offers have run up to 12 nights across Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean, Coastal and Canada/New England — their figure, not Holland America’s, so treat it as a ceiling somebody saw rather than a promise.
Terms: 21+, 50 states and DC, about seven business days for a response, and you must book within 60 days of the offer being made.
Carnival — Fun Match
Send: loyalty cards from other casinos.
Get: a welcome package of drinks, upgrades and $50 to spend in the casino, plus a free or discounted cruise offer if you’re found eligible. FrequentMiler reported free interior or ocean view cabins in April 2026.
Terms: 21+, 50 states and DC, open until at least 31 December 2026. Worth noting the page now runs on the new Carnival Rewards program rather than VIFP, which retired on 1 September — so the match survived the loyalty overhaul intact.
MSC — Comp Match
Send: an existing comp offer from another cruise line or a land casino.
Get: matched comps with taxes and fees included — unusual, and worth pausing on, because taxes and fees are exactly what the other lines carve out. MSC also returns your sailing deposit as free play. FrequentMiler put that deposit at $400 in April 2026.
MSC publishes very little in the way of terms on the public page. Expect to learn the real rules from whoever handles your submission.
Margaritaville at Sea — Casino Offer Match
Send: existing offers from other cruise lines or land-based casinos.
Get: entry to the Players Club at a recognised level rather than from zero. FrequentMiler reported a complimentary Breezy Balcony up to 7 nights.
We covered Margaritaville’s expanded Players Club when it was announced in September, and the submission mechanics were not published then and still are not — where to send it, what documentation, whether there’s an expiry. If you have actually been through it, you know more than the internet does.
Norwegian — Casinos at Sea
Send: previous complimentary cruise booking confirmations and recent offers.
Get: reported by FrequentMiler as a free interior cabin up to 14 nights worldwide.
The catch: first-time Norwegian cruisers only.
Virgin Voyages
Send: a current land casino offer, or a comped cabin offer from a competing line.
Get: a complimentary cabin up to 9 nights, on an adults-only ship.
Two different things share the name here. Virgin’s Sailing Club status match — the cruise-loyalty one that matched 35-plus programs — closed on 16 January 2026. The casino offer match is separate and was still being reported as live in April 2026. Confirm before you build a plan on it.
MGM Rewards: the one that runs the other way
This one gets explained backwards constantly, so it’s worth being precise.
MGM Rewards is not a cruise tier match. Nothing about it gets you into Club Royale at a higher level. It runs in the opposite direction: the points you earn playing at sea in Club Royale or Celebrity’s Blue Chip Club count toward your MGM land tier.
The published benefits, as of MGM’s June 2025 announcement:

To make it count: book through an MGM Rewards loyalty offer, certificate offer or group cruise, put your MGM number on the booking, and play on your SeaPass card.
That’s from June 2025, so it is over a year old and we have not seen a 2026 restatement of the numbers. Check them before you plan around them. But the direction of travel is the thing to remember — if you are already playing on Royal, you may be earning MGM status without realising it.
What to actually send
The submissions that work have the same shape regardless of line.
Send a current, unexpired offer with your name on it that shows somebody comping you a room. That is the evidence these programs are built to read. A screenshot of your points balance is not it. A tier card photo alone is weaker than a card plus a live offer.
Send your best one, not your most recent one. These are judged on what somebody else thinks you’re worth.
Keep the originals. Do not throw away mailers from lines you have no intention of sailing — those are precisely the currency here.
Be honest. Every one of these programs reserves the right to verify at booking, and an offer that doesn’t survive verification costs you the cabin and the relationship.
The part nobody puts in the headline
“Free” means the fare. Taxes, port fees, gratuities and deposits are yours on almost every one of these. A comped seven-night balcony still lands you a real bill, and on a family booking it is not a small one.
The clocks are deliberately short. Fifteen days to redeem at Royal. Fourteen on the offer match. Sixty days to book at Holland America. Seven business days just to hear back at Princess and Holland America. These windows are designed to make you decide before you’ve compared anything. Know your dates before you submit, not after.
Points do not convert across lines. Being Prime in Club Royale does not make you anything at Princess. A match is a judgement call by a casino marketing department, not an exchange rate.
A comped short sailing is worth less than a comped long one. Judge every offer against the fare actually being waived, not against the tier name attached to it.
And the offer is only worth what the play costs. Every one of these programs exists because the house expects to make more from your play than the cabin costs them. That maths works out for them across thousands of players. Whether it works out for you depends entirely on what you were going to gamble anyway.
Where to start
If you sail Royal and you’re current, you cannot use either Royal program — but Princess, Holland America, Carnival, MSC and Margaritaville all want your Club Royale mailers, and Princess and Carnival both have hard end dates of 31 December 2026.
If you haven’t sailed Royal in two years and you hold status at one of those fifteen land casinos, Royal’s Rewards Match is the single most valuable one on this page — a comped fare for two.
If you have never sailed Norwegian or Virgin, those doors are open to you and closed to most people reading this.
